lobo is a global brand born in Nosara, Costa Rica in 2020. For six years we have curated a collection of fashion, home decor and handmade rugs from makers who share our values: natural fibers, honest craft and respect for the places our pieces come from.
What began as a beach town shop has grown into a global brand, with two stores in Nosara, hospitality and design partnerships around the world, and rugs woven with artisan cooperatives in various countries.
An institution in Playa Guiones
We opened our doors in the heart of Playa Guiones to offer sustainably made clothing and home goods to the local, expat and tourist communities of Nosara in the height of COVID. Today lobo lives in two shops: lobo, steps from the beach in Playa Guiones, and la cueva, our sister store just down the road.
Inside you will find a curated edit of clothing, jewelry, books, kitchen, home and outdoor, alongside our own collection of rugs. Every brand we carry is chosen with intention for its craft and its conscience.

A trusted rug maker
Handmade rugs are the heart of lobo. We carry one of a kind vintage Moroccan and Turkish pieces and weave made to order and fully bespoke designs with artisan cooperatives in Morocco, India, Nepal, Turkey and Mexico. These coops have carried their techniques for generations, and every rug is made by hand, by people paid fairly for their craft.
We offer approvals at every stage of production, from first sketch to final finish, and your rug ships worldwide in 8-12 weeks.
